Coming to Carnegie Hall

The Grand Rapids Symphony, one of the most forward-looking of America’s regional orchestras, has announced an upcoming appearance at Carnegie Hall on Friday, 20 April 2018 at 8pm. At the helm will be their music director, the young Brazilian Marcelo Lehninger, fast becoming known for his electric performances, elegant programming, and an enthusiastic embrace of 20th and 21st century repertoire. Joining the orchestra and Maestro Lehninger will be the 140-member Grand Rapids Symphony Chorus (Pearl Shangkuan, director) and Nelson Freire, the pianist’s pianist and fellow Brazilian, in a program of Ravel, Villa-Lobos and Falla. Tickets are available at $17.50, $25, $35, $70 & $110 (GRS at Carnegie Hall).
